Is there any way to open a streaming location without being limited to the Internet TV module choices. In other words, can a URL be opening in Media Center?

Would anyone know where we can find information on building Flash frontends that would work in Media Center.. + through an Extender like Xbox 360
What do you need ?
Is there a sdk ??.. info.

i’ve been asking this same question for a while now, and i can’t get an answer out of anyone, but the closest i can figure is that netflix HD is not available in wmc, only in xbox or standalone boxes

But there are no captions shown with the internet tv, even on shows that have captions on over the air television! Boo, hiss. Two thumbs down.

hi i have windows 7 ultimate and media center don´t show the menu-internet tv. i updated media center but the menus dont show up ideas ??????? thank you

I agree that the video quality kind of ruins this… it’s fine if you don’t feel like getting the same content elsewhere, but very pixelated. Great interface though!

Re: Outside the US, yes this is disappointing but unfortunately due to rights issues as some have pointed out.

Best bet is to contact your local television network and tell them you’d want to see support for Windows 7 Media Center.

As for Flash Video support, best to think of this as support for the streaming video player. The video feed (and subsequent quality) are provided by the network. The MC7 plug-in wires up the transport controls (Play/Pause/etc.) to the Media Center UI.

These features do not work in Extenders due to a lack of codec support required for HW accelerated Flash Video playback.
